CATSKILL — We’re gathering at Crossroads Taproom in Catskill on Sun. Dec. 2, noon - 4 p.m., where the holiday cheer will be flowing in abundance and local authors will be signing their books for you. A book is always a special gift. When its signed and personalized by the author it’s unique.

Here’s who we have lined up this year:

Andrew Amelinckx — freelance writer and historical true crime author living in Catskill. His latest book Hudson Valley Murder & Mayhem dredges up the region’s dark past, from prohibition-era shootouts to unsolved murders, in eleven heart-pounding stories.

Jedediah Berry — author of award-winning fantasy noir novel, The Manual Of Detection. His story “The Family Arcana”, published as a poker deck, was a finalist in the World Fantasy Awards.

Thomas Cole — Catskill resident and founder of the Hudson River School of art, despite being dead for a number of years, will join us in spirit with his Essay On American Scenery and other relevant gift items from the Thomas Cole National Historic Site.

Mark Greenberg — Pulitzer Prize-nominated, internationally acclaimed photojournalist living in Catskill, has authored several best-selling books. His works include: Amazon Diary, co-authored with Hudson Talbott, Obama: The Historic Front Pages and his latest, the best-selling Obama: The Historic Presidency Of Barack Obama — 2,920 Days.

Rodney Alan Greenblat — well-known artist, author, musician and meditation teacher. His art has been celebrated worldwide for over 30 years. He lives in Catskill and owns The Rodney Shop on Main St. His latest book is Dharma Delight — A Visionary Post Pop Guide to Buddhism and Meditation.

Sylvia Hasenkopf — historian/genealogist/columnist living in Cairo,NY. Her works include: May God In His Mercy Spare Our Lives: The Civil War Diary of Esek Wilber 120th NY Vols., Tracing Your Roots In Greene County, Vol.1 and 2. Her latest is Cairo’s Hometown Heroes.

Susan Simon — James Beard award-winning food and lifestyle author and columnist who lives in Hudson, NY. Her works include The Nantucket Table, The Nantucket Holiday Table, Contorni: Authentic Italian Side Dishes For All Seasons, and her latest is the Italian culinary guide Italy Dish By Dish.

Hudson Talbott — Catskill resident and author/illustrator of at least 25 books for young readers. His book River Of Dreams - The Story if the Hudson River was named NY State Book of the Year and is used in school curricula throughout the Hudson Valley. His latest book is Picturing America — Thomas Cole and The Birth of American Art.

John Thorn — the Official Baseball Historian for Major League Baseball lives in Catskill and is the leading authority on the sport’s history. He is an author, publisher, and cultural commentator. His works include: Total Baseball: The Official Encyclopedia of Major League Baseball, Baseball In The Garden Of Eden, and his latest, The Hidden Game Of Baseball.
