Columbia County restaurant inspections

*Editor’s note: Restaurant inspection information was obtained from the Columbia County Department of Health.

n Chatham Elementary School Cafeteria, 60 Woodbridge Ave., Chatham, was inspected Jan. 23. No violations were found.

n MJ Subs LLC (Morabitos), 189 Healy Blvd., Hudson, was inspected Jan. 10. No violations were found.

n Claverack Subway, 634 Route 23B & 9H, Hudson, was inspected Jan. 4 and was cited for three noncritical violations: Floors, walls, ceilings, not smooth, properly constructed in disrepair or dirty surfaces; food not protected during storage preparation, display, transportation and service from potential sources of contamination (e.g. food uncovered, mislabeled, stored on floor, missing or inadequate sneeze guards, food containers double stacked. The restaurant was also cited for accurate thermometers not available or used to evaluate refrigerated or heated storage temperatures.

n Amtrak Station Snack Bar, 69 Front St., was inspected Jan. 4. No violations were found.

n Ör Gallery & Tavern, 35 S. Third St., was inspected Dec. 31. No violations were found.

n DYAD, 16 Hudson St., Kinderhook, was inspected Dec. 31. No violations were found.

n Gaskins, 2 Church Ave., Germantown, was inspected Dec. 31. No violations were found.

n The Flammerie, 7 Hudson St., Kinderhook, was inspected Dec. 28. No violations were found.

n Swiss Hutte, 3290 Route 23, Hillsdale, was inspected Dec. 28 and was cited for a noncritical violation of insects, rodents present.

n Aeble Restaurant, 449 Warren St., was inspected Dec. 28 and was cited for two, noncritical violations, including food not protected during storage, preparation, display, transportation and service from potential sources of contamination.

n Swoon Kitchenbar, 340 Warren St., was inspected Dec. 27 and cited for a noncritical violation: Food not protected during storage, preparation, display, transportation and service from potential sources of contamination.

n Back Bar, 347 Warren St., was cited Dec. 26 for food not protected during storage, preparation, display, transportation and service from potential, sources of contamination: a noncritical violation.

n Asian Café, 424 Fairview Ave., was cited Dec. 26 for two noncritical violations, including food contact with surfaces not washed, rinsed and sanitized after each use and following any time of operations when contamination may have occurred. Also, floors, walls ceilings, not smooth, properly constructed, in disrepair or dirty surfaces.

n Fish and Game Restaurant, 13 S. Third St., was cited Dec. 26 for food (ice) contact with surfaces that are improperly designed, constructed, installed, located (cracks, open seams, pitted surfaces, tin cans reused, uncleanable or corroded food contact surfaces) — a noncritical violation.

n Governor’s Tavern, 14 S. Seventh St. was cited Dec. 24 for two critical violations: Cooked or prepared foods subject to cross-contamination from raw foods; and food workers not using proper utensils to eliminate bare-hand contact with cooked or prepared foods. The restaurant and bar were cited for three, noncritical violations, including hand-washing facilities inaccessible, improperly located, dirty, in disrepair, improper fixtures, soap and single service towels or hand-drying devices missing; single service items reused, improperly stored, dispensed, not used when required; and food not protected during storage, preparation, display, transportation and service from potential sources of contamination.

n La Bella Pizza, 250 Fairview Ave., Hudson, was inspected Dec. 21 and cited for inadequate lighting and ventilation, not shielded fixtures, dirty ventilation hoods, ductwork, filters and exhaust fans — a noncritical violation.
