Columbia County police blotter

STATE POLICE

n Brian J. Leaver, 34, of Red Hook, was arrested at 9:17 p.m. April 19 in Livingston and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or higher, driving while intoxicated, both unclassified misdemeanors and first-time offenses; moving unsafely from a lane, failing to use a designated lane and failing to keep to the right, all infractions. He was given an appearance ticket for a later court date.

n Leonard Ruben, 21, of Elmsford, was arrested at 11:40 a.m. April 20 in Milan and charged with first-degree operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, an unclassified misdemeanor; and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. He was given an appearance ticket for a later court date.

n Andrew D. Wiltse, 39, of Bedford Hills, was arrested at 11 p.m. April 20 in Ancram and charged with driving while intoxicated with a previous conviction within 10 years, a class E felony; an equipment violation of failing to dim lights, driving left of pavement markings, a speed violation of exceeding 55 miles per hour, refusing to take a breath test and drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on a highway, all infractions. Wiltse’s arrestee status is unknown.

n Damien J. Costa, 21, of Chatham, was arrested at 3:20 a.m. April 21 in Chatham and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or higher and driving while intoxicated, both unclassified misdemeanors and first-time offenses. He was given an appearance ticket for a later court date.

n Iesha M. Veillettebeckett, 21, of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, was arrested at 4:45 a.m. April 21 in New Lebanon and charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor; operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or higher, driving while intoxicated, both unclassified misdemeanors and first-time offenses; two counts of driving on the shoulders or slopes, moving unsafely from a lane and driving left of pavement markings, both infractions. Veillettebeckett’s arrestee status is unknown.

n Keith D. Dewey, 26, of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, was arrested at 4:48 a.m. April 21 in New Lebanon and charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor. Dewey’s arrestee status is unknown.

n Lucas J. Cody, 21, of Hudson, was arrested at 10:35 a.m. April 21 in Livingston and charged with second-degree criminal mischief, a class D felony. He was released on his own recognizance.

n Emil Meltz, 26, of Ghent, was arrested at 2:50 a.m. April 22 in Kinderhook and charged with first-degree operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, an unclassified misdemeanor; failing to use signal lights and driving while using a portable electric device, both infractions. He was released to a third party.

n Carolyn F. Cordtz, 32, of Santa Monica, California, was arrested at 9 p.m. April 22 in Livingston and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or higher, driving while intoxicated, both unclassified misdemeanors and first-time offenses; following too close and a speed violation of exceeding 55 miles per hour, both infractions. She was held in lieu of $750 bail. Cordtz's charges were reduced in Livingston Town Court to driving while ability impaired by alcohol and she paid a fine of $400.

n Jason R. Williams, 38, of Lebanon, was arrested at 12:12 p.m. April 24 in New Lebanon and charged with second-degree criminal contempt by disobeying a court order, a class A misdemeanor. Williams’ arrestee status was not reported.

n Christopher J. Louise, 22, of Claverack, was arrested at 2:50 a.m. April 25 in Claverack and charged with second-degree aggravated harassment with a threat and resisting arrest, both class A misdemeanors. He was held.

n Brian Matwa, 51, of Kinderhook, was arrested at 9:40 a.m. April 25 in Kinderhook and charged with third-degree criminal trespassing of an enclosed property, a class B misdemeanor. He was given an appearance ticket for a later court date.

n Nicholas A. Matos, 20, of Clifton Park, was arrested at 2:24 p.m. April 25 in Claverack and charged with second-degree criminal possession of marijuana over 16 oz., a class D felony. He was held in lieu of cash bail.

n Kendall L. Clark, 44, of Niverville, was arrested at 1:30 a.m. April 26 in Chatham and charged with driving while intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor and first-time offense; and aggravated driving while intoxicated: per se-no prior, an unclassified misdemeanor. He was given an appearance ticket for a later court date.

COLUMBIA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

n Shawn Mazelie, 37, of Hillsdale, was arrested at 3:56 p.m. April 17 in Claverack and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor; third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, an unclassified misdemeanor; and driving with no seat belt, an infraction. He was issued tickets returnable to Claverack Town Court on May 8.
