City announces free weekend parking at all city-owned surface parking lots

August 2, 2018 11:42 am

POUGHKEEPSIE — Mayor Rob Rolison announced that, through the end of this year, parking at all city-owned surface lots will be free on weekends.

“Parking in the lots is already free on Sunday, so it just makes sense to expand this to include Saturday, and have our weekend parking entirely free”, said the Mayor. “We’re focused on making it more convenient and inviting for visitors who choose to avail themselves of all Poughkeepsie has to offer. From dining and entertainment to arts and leisure, from our waterfront to our city parks, there are many reasons to visit Poughkeepsie, now free weekend parking is one of them”, the Mayor said.

Public comment on whether the change should be a permanent one is welcomed and may be made via email to Mayor@CityofPoughkeepsie.com

The public is reminded that on-street parking in the City remains free on weekends.

All parking regulations, including alternate side parking rules, and no-parking zones, will continue to be enforced.
