First Friday Community Meal

Parents Night Out

KINDERHOOK — Parents Night Out 5:30-8:30 p.m. Jan. 12 at the Kinderhook Reformed Church, 21 Broad St., Kinderhook. Free child care for kids 3 and older with dinner provided. Fun evening of age appropriate crafts, story-time and movie in a safe and nurturing environment. Preregistration required. For information and to register, call 518-758-6401.

Soup and Sandwich Lunch

STUYVESANT — The Stuyvesant Reformed Church, Route 9J and Church Street, Stuyvesant, will serve a free soup and sandwich lunch 11 a.m.-1 p.m. the first Saturday of the month through April.

SRC Stitchers

STUYVESANT — The Stuyvesant Reformed Church, SRC Stitchers are gathering up their tools and supplies and getting their sewing machine dusted off for a new season of mending and simple clothing repairs. The simple things members of the community need taken care of. The Stitchers meet 10 a.m.-noon the third Saturday of the month through April in the basement of the Church at the corner of Church Street and Route 9J in Stuyvesant. The Stitchers will be prepared to do simple repairs, (hems, zippers etc) while you wait. More involved repairs may need more time and we would tell you if we need more time. The fee will be by donation.

Indoor Yard Sale

GHENT — An Indoor Yard Sale will be held 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Jan. 19 at the Ghent Reformed Church, 1039 County Route 22, West Ghent. Table space is available. One table is $20 or 2/$30. The kitchen counter will be open for breakfast and lunch with delicious homemade food, soups and desserts to eat in or take out. To reserve a table or for information, call the Church at 518-828-5946. Office hours are 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Interfaith Celebration

CHATHAM — An Interfaith Celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 20 at St. James, 117 Hudson Ave., Chatham. Free and open to all. Join TCS/NT and the Chatham Interfaith Committee in a celebration of the birth and life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The keynote speaker will be Rabbi Israel “Sy” Dresner, father of TCS/NT member, Avi Dresner. Rabbi Dresner was a close friend and confident of Dr. King and participated in the historic Freedom Rides, working with Dr. King and, in 1961, was one of a group of clergy who traveled to the South in the first interfaith Freedom Ride.

Super Bowl Chili & Sub Sale

GHENT — Don’t know what to serve for your Super Bowl Bash? Here’s a suggestion. The Ghent Reformed Church, 1039 County Route 22, West Ghent, is selling quarts of homemade Chili for $6. Or if Chili isn’t your thing, we’re selling “make-your-own” meatball and pepperoni subs for $8. You get to put the sub together when YOU want to eat it. Pre-order by calling the Church Office at 518-828-5946. Pick up will be 10:30-11:30 a.m. Feb. 3, Super Bowl Sunday.

Valentine’s Italian Buffet

GHENT — The 10th annual Valentine’s Italian Buffet will be held at 6 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Ghent Reformed Church, 1039 County Route 22, West Ghent. Takeouts will be available for pick-up at 5 p.m. This all-you-can-eat buffet includes numerous Italian dishes, salad, rolls and desserts. The cost is $15 for adults and $8 for children under 10.
