CRARYVILLE -- Justice Brantley recorded his third triple-double in the past four games, dropping 41 points, grabbing 14 rebounds and dishing out 10 assists as Catskill wrapped up a share of its second straight Patroon Conference championship with a 96-59 victory over Taconic Hills on Friday.

Maple Hill defeated Rensselaer on Friday, 49-41, to earn a share of the title with Catskill. Both teams finish league play with 14-2 records.

"Over the years, one of the more competitive programs that I respect is the Maple Hill basketball program," Catskill coach Doug Lampman said. "They always put a quality product on the court, they are always well coached. I can honestly say its an honor to share the Patroon Conference with such a quality program.

"We are ecstatic. I lost five of my top seven players last year and the fact that we were able to get back to back championships this year. It says a lot about the overall character of this program. the guys, even the young guys, freshman and sophomores  are buying into this program, it means a lot. I'm ecstatic that we can represent the Patroon Conference as champions."

Taconic Hills kept it close early, trailing just 18-16 after one quarter, but Catskill kicked it into high gear in the second stanza as Brantley poured in 14 of the team's 26 points to make it a 44-25 game at halftime.

The Cats were up 70-47 after three quarters and finished strong, outscoring the Titans, 26-12, in the final stanza.

"Tonight we played a solid game down the stretch," Lampman said. "We started out a little shaky and Taconic Hills certainly came to play, knocking down the three's. That always seems to be our Achilles Heel. We settled into a nice game, we had to make all new roles, with Logan Scott (foot injury) out, we have to give everyone a different role.

"It is back to the drawing board trying to create another team. But that is part of high school basketball when you lose people to injuries you have to make adjustments. We struggled with those adjustments early on but we were able to overcome them as the game wore on. I expected a lot of confusion with a quality player like Logan down."

Devon Haye had a double-double for the Cats (17-3 overall), with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Melik Christian added 12 points, eight rebounds and six assists and Bervonis Donely had 11 points and seven rebounds.

Kolby Clegg led Taconic Hills with 28 points. Trevor New had 12 and Devon Charron 11.

Catskill now awaits sectional pairings, but will move on without the services of Scott.

"Logan is going to be out for the rest of the season, so we have to build new roles around that," Lampman said. "Get them ready and comfortable with their roles on the basketball team. We have to continue to work on all facets of the basketball game. The sectional tournament is going to be a very difficult one for us, but we are going to get ready and do the very best we can. "
