Canetto leads TH past Emma Willard
CRARYVILLE — Amelia Canetto scored a hat trick to lead Taconic Hills to a 5-2 victory over Emma Willard in nonleague varsity field hockey on Tuesday.
The Lady Titans came out on fire as Madison Rowe scored an unassisted goal six minutes into the game.
Emma Willard knotted it up 53 seconds later with a score from Catherine Lapham.
Kirsten Shumsky found Canetto for a score with six minutes remaining in the half to put TH back up. Less than three minutes later, the Lady Jesters knotted the game up once again with Olivia Richter finding the back of the net.
At the half, TH held an 8-7 edge in shots and a 6-5 advantage in penalty corners.
Early in the second half, Taconic Hills took the lead with a score from Sage Pulver.
Canetto scored her second goal of the game in the 41st minute and added her third with 4:18 remaining on the clock.
In total, TH outshot Emma Willard 14-7, though the teams were knotted up in penalty corners at 8-8.
In the net for the Lady Titans, Sydney Kiernan had five saves. Emma Willard’s Kotis Kwok had nine.
PATROON GIRLS SOCCER
Catskill 6, Coxsackie-Athens 0
CATSKILL — Behind Maci Mosher's second hat trick of the season, the Catskill Lady Cats cruised past the Coxsackie-Athens Lady Indians 6-0 in Patroon Conference girl's soccer action Tuesday afternoon.
Mosher finished with three goals, Katie Bulich added two goals, Jenna Quick chipped in with a goal and two assists and Aryanna Burbas and Ashley Shook each finished with an assist.
Lady Cats keeper Laura Christman finished with four saves, while Coxsackie-Athens keeper Jess Steinke had 21.
Catskill (5-0, 3-0 Patroon) travel to take on Taconic Hills today at 4: 15 p.m. Meanwhile, Coxsackie-Athens (1-3, 1-3) hosts Cairo-Durham on Thursday at 4:15 p.m.
Chatham 4, Maple Hill 1
CASTLETON — Behind Brooke-Lyn Doyle's hat trick, the Chatham Lady Panthers downed the undefeated Maple Hill Lady Wildcats 4-1 to remain unbeaten Tuesday afternoon.
The former volleyball led the Chatham offense with three goals and one assist and Abby Hoag added a goal and an assist. Forward Caroline Paolucci also finished with an assist.
For Maple Hill, Mariella Hirschoff scored the lone goal.
Chatham keeper Samerpreet Kaur finished with seven saves and Hill keeper Hannah Brewer had one.
Chatham improves to 3-0-1 while Maple Hill falls to 3-1.
Greenville 7, Cairo-Durham 0
GREENVILLE — Behind combined four goals between Isabella Trostle and Morgan Whitbeck, the Greenville Lady Spartans cruised past the Cairo-Durham Lady Mustangs 7-0 in Patroon Conference girls soccer action Tuesday afternoon.
Trostle finished with two goals and one assist, Whitbeck added two goals, Alexis Caprio, Natalie Krasney, and Meghan Misuraca each finished with a goal and Kaitlyn Silk added two assists.
Greenville keeper Kasey Pfleging finished with four saves and Cairo-Durham goalie finished with 15.
Greenville improves to 2-1 while Cairo-Durham falls to 1-3.
Taconic Hills 6, Hudson 0
CRARYVILLE — The Taconic Hills Lady Titans blanked the Hudson Lady Bluehawks 6-0 in Patroon Conference girls soccer action Tuesday afternoon.
The Lady Titans’ offense was led by Chandler Hoose with a hat trick, Ally Skabowski chipped in two goals and Katelyn Hotaling finished with a goal. Isabelle Hammann, Macayla Sparacino, Hailee West, Marleah Perry, Amanda Rustick, Marissa Kernan each chipped in an assist.
The Lady Titans outshot Hudson 31-2.
Taconic Hills improves to 2-2 while Hudson falls to 0-3.
CHVL GIRLS SOCCER
Germantown 5, Rensselaer 0
GERMANTOWN —The Germantown Lady Clippers rolled past the Rensselaer Lady Rams 5-0 in CHVL girls soccer action Tuesday afternoon.
Ryane Anderson started the scoring with a goal early in the first half and the Lady Clippers proceeded to score three more goals just before the half. Julia Howard scored two goals, with one of them coming off an assist by Megan Dunn, and one goal was by Riley Gibbons off a give-and-go from Howard.
In the second half, Gibbons found Tori Decker for the game-sealing goal to give Germantown the 5-0 lead and victory.
Germantown held a 26-5 shots on goal advantage and keeper Kaitlyn Stagno finished with two saves.
Germantown (3-0, 2-0 CHVL) host Emma Willard today at 4:15 p.m.
NONLEAGUE BOYS SOCCER
Hunter-Tannersville 5, Germantown 0
HUNTER —The Hunter-Tannersville Wildcats dominated the Germantown Clippers to the tune of a 5-0 shutout Tuesday afternoon in boys non-league soccer action.
Cole Matthews led the Wildcats attack with two goals and one assist, Kaeden Leach finished with one goal and one assist, Jason McDevitt and Anthony Andreasen each contributed a goal and Zack Lane and Cody Paradis each added an assist.
Hunter outshot Germantown 26-4.
"Our guys came out playing really well, had some some great through balls early on that we couldn't take advantage of, but Cole came through in the first 10," said Hunter coach Brent Dearing.
Hunter-Tannersville (2-0, 1-0 Delaware) hosts Gilboa on Thursday at 4:15 p.m.

COXSACKIE-ATHENS — The Coxsackie-Athens Lady Indians cruised past Waterford 4-1 in Patroon Conference tennis action Tuesday afternoon.

Hudson 3, Maple Hill 1
CASTLETON — After falling to Greenville on Monday, the Hudson Lady Bluehawks redeemed themselves Tuesday night with a 3-1 victory over previously unbeaten Maple Hill in Patroon volleyball action.
Hudson won the first two sets by scores of 25-21 and 25-23, but dropped the third set 19-25. The Lady Bluehawks didn't relinquish their grip on the victory, defeating Maple Hill 25-17 in the fourth set to take the match.
"It was a total team effort tonight, we needed to bounce back from our game Monday night and we did a great job tonight," said Hudson coach Chuck Peters.
Sarah Alvarez led the way with 19 points (14 kills, 5 service points), Katie Jepsen added 19 points (17 kills, two service points), Nicole Conte finished with eight points (6 kills, two service points).
Hudson improves to 3-1 while Maple Hill falls to 3-1.
Greenville 3, Cairo-Durham 0
GREENVILLE — The Greenville Lady Spartans swept the Cairo-Durham Lady Mustangs 3-0 in Patroon Conference volleyball action Tuesday night.
Greenville won by set scores of 25-11, 25-2 and 25-9.
Taconic Hills 3, Coxsackie-Athens 2
CRARYVILLE — The Taconic Hills Lady Titans battled to a 3-2 victory over the Coxsackie-Athens Lady Indians in Patroon Conference volleyball action Tuesday night.
Taconic Hills dropped the first set 11-25, but bounced back to steal the second set 27-25. However, Taconic Hills would drop the third set 25-23.
Down 2-1, Taconic Hills rallied to take the final two sets 25-19 and 25-23 to take the match 3-2.
Taconic Hils was led by Emma Leipman with six kills and seven aces, Katie Runyon finished with eight kills and four aces, and Morgan Monty finished with 25 assists.
Taconic Hills (4-2) travels to Greenville on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
PATROON CROSS COUNTRY
CATSKILL -- Catskill hosted Maple Hill, Cairo-Durham, and Germantown in Patroon Conference cross country on Tuesday.
On the boys side, Maple Hill defeated Germantown, Catskill, and Cairo-Durham and Catskill stole wins against Cairo-Durham and Germantown. On the girl's side, Maple Hill completed the sweep as none of their foes had a complete team.

On the boys side, Taconic Hills captured the sweep, defeating Coxsackie-Athens and Rensselaer 22-33. Coxsackie-Athens defeated Rensselaer 27-28.
On the girls side, all teams were incomplete so there was no scoring.

John Russell led the way for the Bluehawks with a team-low 43. Jake McDonald shot a 45 and Daniel Zito finished with a 49.
Hudson (4-0) travels to take on Taconic Hills today at Copake Golf and Country Club at 4 p.m.
Coxsackie-Athens 8, Catskill 4
GREENVILLE — The Coxsackie-Athens Indians defeated the Catskill Cats 8-4 at Thunderhart Golf Course on Tuesday afternoon in Patroon Conference golf action.
Tristan Gerrain led the way for Coxsackie-Athens with a team-low 54, Connor Wood added a 57, and Leo Woytowich finished with a 56.
For Catskill, Storm Hicks shot a team-low 54 and Mike Jubie finished with a 59.
Coxsackie-Athens hits the links again today against Maple Hill at 4 p.m. at Thunderhart Golf Course.

CHATHAM — The Taconic Hills Titans breezed past the Chatham Panthers on the links 24-0 on Tuesday afternoon in Patroon Conference golf action.
