Boy Scout Eagle project completed in Coeymans Hollow

COEYMANS HOLLOW — Coeymans Hollow Volunteer Fire Corporation member and Eagle Scout candidate Jared Strokes from Boy Scout Troop 81 in Selkirk completed his Eagle project on Sunday, Aug. 19.

For his Eagle Scout project, Strokes chose to put 911 address signs on Blodgett Hill Road, Keir Road and Bramanda Lane.

The green and white reflective signs will make a residence address more visible from the road so emergency personnel can find a home quickly. Several roads in the area already have signs from Joe Mortefolios’ Eagle project and Strokes is extending the coverage to three more roads in the Coeymans Hollow Fire District.

The Coeymans Hollow Volunteer Fire Corporation is supporting Strokes’ Eagle Project and he has received financial support from Quantum Engineering Co. PC, Anastasia Strokes, and Johnna and Earl Norton of MM and I Mowing and More.

The 911 address signs were placed free of charge in front of residences. Strokes, along with a group of Scouts, Scouting advisors and a fire company member, installed the signs where residents had granted written permission.

The Coeymans Hollow Volunteer Fire Corporation congratulates Strokes for completing his Eagle Scout project.

Remember, when you call 911, if emergency personnel can’t find you, they can’t help you.
