Bonnie Lynn Bard, 62, a lifelong area resident, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, NY.
Born on August 22, 1955, in Rhinebeck, NY, she was the daughter of the late Gordon “Duke” and Marie C. (Traver) Pulver. Bonnie married Richard J. Bard on March 27, 1976 at the Blythewood Estate on Bard College- Annandale on Hudson, NY. Richard survives at home.
A graduate of Red Hook High School -Class of 1975, Bonnie began her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant and a Physical Therapy Aide at Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck. She worked at Ferncliff Nursing Home for over thirty years, retiring in 2006.
Bonnie was a member of Historic Red Hook and she along with her husband were founding member of the Friends of Elmendorf. She was a member of the NYS Sheriffs Association Institute, Inc based in Albany, NY- and that Association provides summer camps for disadvantaged children. Bonnie was also a member of AARP.
In addition to her loving husband, Bonnie is survived by a daughter, Christina (Hardeep) Singh of Easton, PA; a brother, Russell (Linda) Pulver of Red Hook, NY; a brother in law, Robert L. Bard of Milan, NY; her grandchildren, Nicholas Bard of Port Ewen, NY, and Gianna Cole of Ulster Park, NY; her close friends, John & Sue Kehl of Tivoli, NY; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was predeceased by her brother, Edward Pulver and her sister in law, Connie Bard Fowle.
As per Bonnie’s wishes, all services are private and cremation will take place at Wiltwyck Crematory, Kingston, NY. Interment of her ashes will be in the future at Bard College Cemetery, Annandale-on-Hudson.
Memorial donations may be made in Bonnie’s memory to the Milan Rescue Squad, 250 Williams Road, Milan, NY 12571.
