Beauford stars in Hudson victory; Titans edge Cats

HUDSON -- Deja Beauford scored 26 points to help Hudson remain one game behind unbeaten Maple Hill in the Patroon Conference girls basketball standings with a 56-34 victory over Coxsackie-Athens on Friday.

Nya Robinson added 13 points as the Bluehawks improved to 8-1 in the Patroon and 8-3 overall.

Anya Josberger had 11 for C-A.

Hudson held quarterly leads of 13-6, 26-13 and 47-21.

The Bluehawks host Maple Hill and Coxsackie-Athens visits Chatham on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

Taconic Hills 46, Catskill 45

CRARYVILLE -- Taconic Hills overcame a one-point halftime deficit to post a 46-45 victory over Catskill in Friday's Patroon Conference girls basketball action.

Catskill led 14-13 after one quarter and 26-25 at halftime, but the Titans outscored the Cats 14-8 in the third quarter and then held off a fourth quarter rally to pull out the win.

Marleah Perry hit three 3-pointers and finished with 14 points for Taconic Hills. Morgan Hoose contributed 13 points.

MaryKate Glass knocked down five 3-pointers and scored a game-high 17 points for Catskill. Ashley Shook had eight.

Catskill hosts Greenville on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., while Taconic Hills entertains Albany Leadership on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

Maple Hill 55, Rensselaer 35

CASTLETON -- Maple Hill tightened its grip on first place in Patroon Conference girls basketball with a 55-35 victory over Rensselaer on Saturday.

The Wildcats (9-0, 10-1) trailed 13-11 and 25-24 at the end of the first two quarters, but went on a 20-5 run in the third quarter, then outscored the Rams 11-5 in the fourth to pull away.

Stacia Coyne was Maple Hill's top scorer with 14 points. Lauryn Smith had 12 and Natasha Strock 11.

Mechalle Cancer had nine points for Rensselaer (7-2, 8-3).

Maple Hill visits Hudson on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

RENSSELAER (35): Brown 2-0-4, Bynum 3-2-8, Cancer 4-1-9, Spence 2-0-6, VanWie 2-0-4, Vogel 2-0-4. Totals 15-3-35.

Greenville 40, Chatham 25

GREENVILLE -- Nine players reached the scoring column for Greenville in a 40-25 Patroon Conference girls basketball victory over Chatham on Friday.

Skyla Van Fleet was the only double figure scorer for the Spartans with 10 points. Natalie Krasney had eight.

Abby Hoag had six points for the Panthers.

Greenville visits Catskill on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. and Chatham hosts Coxsackie-Athens on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

Albany Academy 44, Ichabod Crane 41

ALBANY -- Aaliyah Juste poured in 28 points to spark Albany Academy to a 44-41 victory Ichabod Crane in Friday's Colonial Council girls basketball game.

Academy trailed 19-13 and 27-22 at the end of the first two quarters, but went on to outscore the Riders 22-14 in the second half t earn the victory.

Madie Graham led ICC with 18 points, including two 3-pointers. Riley Paul chipped in with eight.

Ichabod Crane hosts Ravena on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
