COHOES — Ichabod Crane senior Calista Phippen blew past the 1,000 K mark for her career over the weekend and added to her legend by tossing a perfect game against Colonial Council rival Cohoes on Monday, winning 1-0.

The shutout is her 11th of the season. She now has 1,043 strikeouts on her ledger.

At the plate, Gabbie Cox had two singles while Brittany Futia, Phippen, Alex McKearin, Kylie Rivers and Lauryn Heffner had a single apiece. McKearin had an RBI and Jenna Downey scored the game’s lone run.

ICC (12-1) plays again Tuesday, hosting Schalmont at 4:15 p.m.

PATROON SOFTBALL

Maple Hill 11, Chatham 6

CASTLETON — Maple Hill downed Chatham 11-6 in Patroon Conference softball Monday to take over sole possession of first place in the league.

The Lady Wildcats sit at 9-2 in conference play while Greenville sits a half-game back at 8-2 and Chatham is 8-3.

“We had 10 hits on Friday, so we saw her well, but I told the girls that we scattered them and you can’t do that against Chatham. You have to have some rallies and bursts, but they came today, early and often,” MH coach Pat Austin said.

Alysa Houghtaling nearly hit for a cycle for Maple Hill, ending the day at the plate with a single, double and a home run with three RBI and three runs scored. Kenzie Seymour added a triple and a double, Arianna Papas a double and two singles, Lilly Tedford three singles, and Paige Bleau and Elisabeth Brahm two singles apiece.

Houghtaling earned the win on the mound, striking out seven, walking one and giving up one earned run on seven hits.

Jenna Skype toed the rubber for Chatham, allowing five earned runs on 15 hits with five Ks.

Offensively, Megan Gilligan had a triple, Shirley Harvel a double and a single, Skype three singles and Alyssa Rippel a single.

Maple Hill hosts Coxsackie-Athens on Wednesday as Chatham hosts Cairo-Durham today.

Catskill 15, Coxsackie-Athens 3

CATSKILL — Catskill scored eight runs in the first inning en route to a 15-3 victory over Coxsackie-Athens on Monday in Patroon Conference varsity softball.

Catskill’s Kelsey Taylor delivered a single and a double in the winning effort. Angelina Colon, Kiora Chistiana and Kelsey Lackie each had two singles while Megan Davies and Maci Mosher singled.

Colon went the distance, giving up two earned runs on two hits and three walks with four strikeouts.

For the Lady Indians, Lexi Varade hit a double and Olivia Bradt added a single.

Varade and Peyton Bradt took turns on the mound, striking out four, walking eight and giving up 15 runs — five earned — on 10 hits.

Catskill improves to 3-7 on the season as C-A drops to 5-8 (2-8 Patroon).

Greenville 3, Taconic Hills 0

CRARYVILLE — In a continuation of a game that was postponed on Friday, Greenville beat out Taconic Hills 3-0 in Patroon Conference varsity softball on Monday.

Ava Fitzmaurice earned the win on the mound, giving up two hits with eight strikeouts for the Lady Spartans.

At the plate, Callie Pfleging anKasey Pfleging each had multi-hit games.

For the Titans, Alex Tipple and Delana Bonci had a single.

Emily Mottoshiski went the distance on the mound, giving up three unearned runs on six hits and two walks with three Ks.

PATROON BASEBALL

Coxsackie-Athens 12, Catskill 7

CATSKILL — Joe Notarbartolo hit two home runs on Monday, leading Coxsackie-Athens to a 12-7 victory over Catskill in Patroon Conference varsity baseball.

Notarbartolo also had a single, four RBI and three runs scored. Adam Evans hit a homer and two singles, Kane Schrader a double, Gil Bell three singles, Aiden Boehm and Michael Petramale two singles apiece, and Ethan Foster and Killian Schrader a single each.

Adam Evans and Killian Schrader shared pitching duties, combining to surrender seven runs — four earned — on 11 hits and two walks with four strikeouts.

Justin Worth and Andrew Macholdt took turns on the mound for Catskill, giving up 11 earned runs on 16 hits and four walks with seven Ks.

Ben Sullivan hit a home run and two singles for the Cats, Devon Haye had a double and a single, Billy Fitzmaurice and Branden Eacott two singles apiece, and Macholdt and Jeremy Bulich a single apiece.

The win moves C-A to 14-1 (10-1 Patroon) while Catskill falls to 6-7 (6-6).

Chatham 7, Maple Hill 2

CHATHAM — Kaleb Taylor hit a home run and a double to lead Chatham to a 7-2 victory over Maple Hill on Monday in Patroon Conference varsity baseball.

Taylor ended the day with three RBI and two runs scored. Aidan Jackson added a double and a single, Caleb Doyle two singles and Hunter Scheriff chipped in with a single.

Jackson took the mound for the Panthers and allowed one earned run on seven hits with five strikeouts.

Nick Butler and Austin Ohl split time on the bump for Maple Hill, combining for six Ks, four walks and seven hits with three earned runs.

Nick Butler hit a double and a single while Ohl had two singles and Christian Beber, Kyle Tedford and Tyler Hanrahan each singled.

Chatham improves to 12-3 (9-3 Patroon) as Maple Hill falls to 11-4 (8-4).

Cairo-Durham 15, Green Tech 2

CAIRO — Cairo-Durham picked up its second win of the season on Monday, blasting Green Tech 15-2 in Patroon Conference varsity baseball.

The Mustangs beat out Green Tech at Joe Bruno Stadium on Friday night for their first win of the year.

On Monday, Jake Hall led the offense for C-D, hitting a home run and two singles with two RBI and three runs scored. Nick Ryan and Shane Mooney each hit two doubles, Ethan Phillips and Alek Wagor had two singles apiece, and Brady Murphy and Steven Cody had a single.

Hall earned the win on the mound, striking out 10, walking six and giving up two runs on six hits.

The Mustangs improve to 2-15 (2-13 Patroon) as Green Tech drops to 1-14 (0-12).

Greenville 9, Taconic Hills 1

GREENVILLE — Greenville used 12 hits to defeat Taconic Hills 9-1 on Monday in Patroon Conference varsity softball.

Cole Ackerman hit a home run for the Spartans and had two RBI and two runs scored. Milton Edmonds had two doubles, Dalton Pruiksma a double and a single, Ryan McAneny and Keenan Mulholland two singles apiece, and Liam Krasney, Seamus Kappel and Isaiah Edmonds a single each.

Milton Edmonds earned the win on the mound with 14 strikeouts, one walk and five hits.

Brandon Preusser and Kolby Clegg pitched for TH, striking out seven and walking one.

AJ Glasser hit a double, Preusser, Jacob West, Dusty Snyder and Zack Weaver singled.

COLONIAL BASEBALL

Ichabod Crane 16, Cohoes 3

COHOES — Ichabod Crane scored five runs in the first inning and five more in the second, rolling to a 16-3 victory over Cohoes on Monday in Colonial Council varsity baseball.

Chad Salazar hit two doubles and two singles with two RBI and four runs scored to lead the Riders. Josh Hall hit a home run and two singles, Tanner Mulica a double and a single, Ethan Saxby a double, Josh Nooney and Seamus Wolfe three singles apiece, Rama Culver two singles, and Dave Yankowski, Josh Wheeler, and Jack Baumgartner a single each.

Mulica started the game for ICC and Tylor Daley finished up on the mound. The duo combined for 10 strikeouts, six walks and five hits.

ICC improves to 12-1 and hosts Schalmont today at 4:15 p.m.

PATROON TENNIS

Maple Hill 6, Hudson 1

HUDSON — Maple Hill dropped Hudson 6-1 in Patroon Conference varsity tennis on Monday.

VALATIE — Ichabod Crane blanked Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk 7-0 in Colonial Council varsity tennis on Monday.

ICC improves to 4-6 on the year.
