To the editor:
Once again we will be giving our hospitalized veterans on the 9th floor (long term) at the Stratton VAMC, Albany, a Merry Christmas with personal gifts and other wished for items. This year our veterans number 50. In addition to those veterans, we hope to help furnish their recreational and therapy departments with needed items and supply voluntary services with items for needy veterans and homeless veterans.
This can only be accomplished with the help of friends, family, organization and businesses in our communities. In the past 14 years we have been able to give them everything on their want list and fulfill their every wish only because of your heartfelt generosity. We are asking for your help to make our hospitalized heroes’ Christmas a merry and joyous one, as they so rightly deserve.
You can help with monetary donations, the purchase of gifts from their wish lists and a visit from you. One hundred percent of the donations go to the veterans at the VAMC.
You can contact the Gurleys at 518-299-3219 OR firstname.lastname@example.org to make a contribution or for a wish list of items you purchase directly. If you purchase items, they can be delivered to the Gurleys, 13457 Route 23A, Prattsville for wrapping and delivery. You are invited to help wrap these gifts at 1 p.m. Dec. 16 at the Gurleys and join in the delivery of gifts on Dec. 17.
