POUGHKEEPSIE — Thank you for your cooperation as we create the independent feature film titled “The Buried Girl;” a swift-moving, tense and emotionally-fulfilling murder mystery and coming of age story. This riveting project has attracted stars such as Oona Laurence (The Beguiled, Pete’s Dragon), Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost, The Purge), Brandon Larracuente (13 Reasons Why), Yetide Badaki (American Gods) and James Ransone (The Wire).

Ben Hickernell, our director, has directed three feature films: Lebanon, Pa., Backwards and A Rising Tide, which starred Josh Hopkins, James Van Der Beek and Tim Daly respectively. Each went on to successful festival runs and reviews, and were distributed theatrically and on television both domestically and internationally. Atit Shah, our producer, has produced films such as Money starring Kellan Lutz and Jesse Williams and a new sitcom called Brown Nation on Netflix. With these experienced professionals behind our project, we have no doubt that their collaboration will result in a fantastic, widely seen film.

The beautiful town of Poughkeepsie will be the backdrop of this film with sites such as the Poughkeepsie Police Station, local residences, Mills Norrie Park and Spackenkill High School taking center stage. We will also be supported by many local restaurants and business throughout the shoot which will take place Aug. 7 through Aug. 26.
