COPAKE — The Two Of Us Productions, the award winning theater company based in Columbia County, is pleased to present Terms of Endearment by Dan Gordon, February 15 through 24 at The Theater at The Grange in Copake.

Challenges in life and love test the resilience of a mother-daughter relationship in Dan Gordon’s adaption of Terms of Endearment from the Oscar-winning screenplay by James L. Brooks and Pulitzer Prize-winning book by Larry McMurtry. Though Emma is often exasperated by her highly-opinionated mother Aurora, they talk every day about their problems, from Aurora finding unexpected love even as she becomes a reluctant grandmother, to Emma’s struggle with her troubled marriage. But when they need one another most, will they be able to find the courage in each other? This funny and touching story captures the delicate, sometimes fractured bonds between mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, and lovers, both old and new.

Set in the recent past, Terms of Endearment features six strong & award-winning local stage favorites. Emma & Aurora Greenway are played by Karissa Payson and Constance Lopez. The role of Emma’s husband Flap Horton is played by Zachary Nayer. Aurora’s romantic interest, astronaut Garrett Breedlove is played by Matthew Leinung. Dr. Maise is played by Brian Yorck. Emma’s lifelong friend Patsy is played by Nicole Molinski. Both Brian and Nicole are also challenged to play some additional key roles throughout the show.

Performances of Terms of Endearment are 2 weekends only – February 15th, 16th & 17th, and the following weekend of February 22nd, 23rd & 24th. Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees are at 3 p.m. The comfortable & intimate Theater at The Grange is located at The Copake Grange, on Empire Road in downtown Copake across from the Clocktower Pub.
